When I'm not conducting exoplanet research, I'm filling in the cracks with a number of pursuits. A couple are shown below.
I'm very passionate about astronomy outreach, and over the years I have given numerous planetarium shows, public observing sessions and public lectures through AstroTours. Check out a recent talk I gave at the University of Toronto on the Science of Interstellar. All my outreach activities can be found on my CV.
Since 2008 I have been a swing dancer, and am part of the professional Lindy Hop troupe That Swing!, as well as a teacher at Bees Knees Dance School. In 2014, That Swing! placed 3rd at the International Lindy Hop Championships (see video on right), and in 2016 we placed 4th.
I've been a musician and producer all my life, playing the harmonica, piano, synthesizer, and voice. I have a number of compositions under the alias Electric Blue, and am also part of the Halifax, N.S. based band U.N.I.O.N.. To the left is a particular composition that I am proud of.
I'm very active in sports, having played baseball, hockey, basketball and lacrosse throughout my life. As a fan, I've supported Toronto my whole life (Leafs, Blue Jays and Raps).
